The Occult Significance of Blood

Ritual

The Occult Significance of Blood is a short work by Austrian occultist Rudolf Steiner, first published in 1912. In it, the author explores the significance of blood in occult rituals. He attributes mystical qualities to DNA in order to elucidate the significance of blood as a prominent motif in the tale of Faust and his pact with Mephistopheles. Furthermore, Steiner expressly asserts that, in the past, blood carried the experiences and memories of ancestors to a greater extent, until different races blended their blood, relinquishing inherited memories in favor of elevated states of awareness.
